I’ve Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years And Maxed Out My Level First Season Conclusion

It was a fun watch and perfect in it’s own way.

I’ve Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level is an anime that focuses on conventional wisdom regarding living a healthy life balance. There is nothing extraordinary that is shared from a philosophical or theoretical perspective. It’s just simple and ordinary wisdom that depending on how you have lived life you might have skipped over or missed.

Recall that Azusa, a former day wage worker, worked herself to death in a job that was ultimately meaningless to her. But by a stroke of luck she was granted her wish to have an immortal and ageless body by a deity with a weakness for women. She then spent the next 300 years living a simple life working only for the daily necessities and never doing more than she needed.

When contrasted with her former life Azusa is better off.

Of course just getting out of a bad situation is only the first step in making a new life for oneself. And if it had been up to Azusa she might have been content with living alone and doing things her own way. But in another stroke of luck or fate, it’s discovered that she has become the most powerful known being in her world by just following her daily routine.

This draws in interest from adventurers and mythical beings across the world. Her power is challenged and proven to indeed be the strongest known being in the world. She even gets a small following who live at her home. Even with her power Azusa doesn’t become absorbed with world conquest or empire building, which is uncommon in the Isekai genre.

Caring for yourself is an important lesson of I’ve Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level.

Caring for yourself isn’t the only message that Azusa shares with others. She shares the message that you don’t have to blindly follow traditions and that not all traditions are good or necessary. Striving for power isn’t the only thing in life. You shouldn’t run around in the nude even if it makes you feel free. There is a litter of lessons to choose from.

You can choose to not stress yourself out.

Blindly chasing illusions of the world distracts you from finding meaning for yourself and your own life. Azusa chooses to live differently than the world she came from. And when she sees others making the mistakes she has made, or reliving the mistakes of her former world, she steps in.

Azusa shares her everyday wisdom with the beings of this world. And while she can’t fix every problem in the world, she helps those around her to see that you can live differently than how others expect you to live. Lending a hand to those in need of her help and graciously correcting others when they are wrong leads to the world around her becoming a more peaceful and a better place than how she found it.

And while Azusa might be the most powerful being in the world, she never abuses her power. She never forces her will onto others. She reasons with others to come up with solutions to complex problems. She doesn’t over complicate things. She is honest and open with the world around her. She only fights if others force that choice on her.

I strongly recommend the watch and hope you find something to learn for yourself.
