Happy New Year!
Another year has gone by and it feels that 2020 couldn’t end fast enough. While it was a terrible year for most of the world, I was fortunate enough to keep my job and be able to continue my blogging mostly uninterrupted. I cannot express enough gratitude to my employer. I also had a very successful year blogging. The experiment that started 2 years ago is still going strong today. I have learned many things along the way. I am grateful to the aniblogger community for being welcoming and making the journey better than it otherwise would have been.
In 2019 I had a total of 1,839 views which I thought was good. I had no idea about what kind of figures to expect let alone what 2020 would bring. In 2020 I had a total of 16,407 views. I was not expecting that level of growth for the blog or that many views. In short I am dumbfounded by the fact that so many people have read. Thank you to everyone who has come to read my blog. I appreciate your support.
Over time I have settled down on a process, a personal formula for writing. People say that the process matters more than the results. I agree with that statement. For me the process of sitting down and writing my ideas, no matter how good or bad I thought they were at the time, turning it into something has made all the difference.
As a lifelong over-thinker, I have too many ideas. Many are abstract and I can’t properly write them down.
Channeling those thoughts into something coherent has made this blog. Of course I wish I could spend more time writing about all sorts of subjects and different anime, but time constraints and reality kick in. I have limited time. I have to choose the best ideas or the ones I find most worthwhile.
I have tried new ideas on how to produce content with varied success. I will continue to try new ideas as the future proceeds. It’s only natural to want to tweak the process and I am always curious if an idea will be the game changer.
Rambling aside, what are my plans for 2021?
I am glad you asked. So far I plan on mostly keeping on keeping on. I will keep writing. I always write with the idea that I am going to write from the heart. I am going to write about what matters for me. If you vibe, you vibe. If you don’t there are plenty of other places on the internet to visit to find exactly what you are looking for.
I should sit down and look at maybe doing a site overhaul and making it look better. Truth be told I struggle even with a website builder to make a decent webpage. It’s functional. Maybe I will try this yoast thing that Crow recommended. But those are maybes that will take time to learn, and more than standard effort to figure out. Currently I am rather content.
Well anyhow I am going to walk away from the keyboard.
I hope that everyone has a successful year and accomplishes something significant! I wish everyone their own happiness. Be bold and try something new, even if you are terrified to try. Remember to take care of yourself first. And if you are struggling don’t be afraid to reach out for help. No matter where you are, always strive for fulfillment. Reach out for that better tomorrow with your own two hands.
Have a happy 2021!
